Emanuel de Carvalho works across painting, sculpture, and sound. His work seeks a material grammar for the ungovernable, translating philosophical theories of meaning, plasticity, and an-arkhē into matter, after Catherine Malabou and others. He holds an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art, a PhD in Medicine from the University of Amsterdam, and postgraduate training in neuro-ophthalmology at University College London.
